Dialogue-2

Anita finished up the dishes just as the sun slipped completely below the horizon. Standing in her kitchen that was decorated in warm mocha tones she pondered what she'd done last night. Also what she would be doing again soon. She sat at the kitchen table and listened to her husband getting ready for work. He had to cover an extra shift and had been working odd hours. She'd been surprised when he came back when he did. Hopefully Drell was not mad at her for having to disappear so quickly. Would he be waiting online tonight? She hoped both no and yes. Could she do more than talk? Could a woman her age and with her life experiences pull off cyber sex? Heck she wasn't sure she was great at it in real life. She laughed to herself at that and smiled. 'I've managed to embarrass myself, while alone, in my own kitchen.' Somehow it was refreshing and put a remedy to her dark mood.

Greg walked into the kitchen. He stood five inches taller than Anita and he made for a nice head rest for cuddling or dancing. Her husband was in reasonably good shape but perhaps could stand to lose five pounds. His dark hair and green eyes along with a sturdy frame made him a man people did look at with a second glance, more than not. Well, women sometimes found him attractive. Greg brushed back his hair and said "I'm headed out the door, take care." With that he turned away and left. Moments later the door shut and the car started. Greg was gone. Alone again.

Anita got up from the table and walked into the study. Of course it really was not a study but more a place to keep books and the computer along with a couple chairs and two end tables that matched nothing in the house. A storage-study room? It was something...right now it would become the place she "cheated" on her husband. She mused: A storage-fornication-study room. That did not make her laugh. Was this really cheating? She checked the silver band that held the declicate watch face studded in diamonds. In half an hour it would be time to talk to Drell. Mr. Drell. Drell7. The watch.

The watch had been given to her by Greg on their fifth anniversary. It'd cost a great deal for them then. That was before she'd gotten lucky the second time in her entire life. Anita counted meeting and falling in love with Greg as the first time. The second time she split money five ways in a lottery that netted her $125,500. She'd paid off the house, both cars and managed to bank just over two thousand after all was said and done. of course that had been a long time ago. Greg and she had managed to slip away from one another over the years. Like a beach eroding slowly; at first you just don't notice what is missing. Then you've run out of room. All you can do is step back, start over, or be covered by the waves. Covered and lost. Except they were neither lost nor had they started over. Her and Greg were just coming and going. They hadn't even had sex for almost four months now. She cooked and cleaned and stayed at home and he worked and slept and ate and did yard work. Room mates. Far less like married people than buddies. Well, not even buddies either...they just happened to split the bills and share a roof.

The computer waited. Anita turned it on. It would be still more than fifteen minutes before Drell would be at the appointed place. So? She signed in early. The empty blank space made her feel even more alone. The screen so white and empty it begged for words just like her mind and body begged to hear and learn and feel and touch someone that loved her back. Greg probably did still love her. Right? But if she asked and he said the unthinkable what would she do? Fall apart. Fly into a rage. Little Anita in a rage. Probably not. Most likely she would cry. What's more is if Greg ended up being hurt she asked him such a thing. Was she not just as guiltyof letting things grow cold and distant as he was? The answer came as she stared at blank nothing on her screen. Yes. How had this happened? As her thoughts moved toward a way to fix the situation and reclaim the fire they had in the first five years the computer signaled that someone was on-line. Bling!

Drell7: I'm early did you miss me?

Kitegrl: Yes. You said something about doing more than talking?

To be continued...

This is good, because it hits so close to home for me, and I'm sure about 70 percent of other people. Do you have the rest of this? If not, when you write it, let me read it.
